The Pro-Cathedral Parish occupied this building until September of 2010, when the facility was sold by itsowners and the Parish was forced to move to temporary quarters.Prince of Peace Pro-Cathedral Parish is the Archdiocesan Cathedral ParishforTheArchdiocese of the Eastern United States   WE STAND FOR BIBLICAL MORALITY You may have seen on the news or on Yahoo News that Mr. Phil Robertson of the Duck Commander Company has been lambasted by the Culture of Death for his remarks to a magazine interviewer, in which he told the man that homosexual behaviour is condemned by Scripture, and that he himself used to be involved in pre-marital sex and drugs until he met our Lord Jesus Christ. He was rather brusque in his presentation but quoted Scripture effectively and told them that the Love of Jesus Christ is the saving remedy for all these various immoral behaviours. The Culture of Death, however; refers to his comments about the Love of Christ as "hate" statements. How twisted of a society that we live in today; where Good is called evil, and sin is called holiness. Sin is still sin, and ultimately if we choose to serve sin rather than to serve the Lord; we truly shall perish in everlasting destruction from the prescence of the Lord. For none of these immoral behaviours will be present in Heaven, and anyone is sadly deluded by Satan, if they truly think that these evils are part of the Kingdom of God. Unfortunately, several major denominations ARE deluded by Satan, and believe that these sins have a part in God's perfect Kingdom. But TRUTH is always TRUTH, and does not change. Just as Jesus Himself DOES NOT CHANGE, He is the Same, yesterday, today, and forever. Let us briefly look at the Scriptures that Mr. Robertson effectively quoted to the media:ICOR 6:9-119 Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind, 10Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God. 11 And such were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God.Welcome in the Wonderful Name of Our Lord Jesus Christ.We are a "Western Rite" Orthodox ministry,(Anglican Rite Orthodox) within the framework of the so-called Independent Movement. We are affiliated with the Archdiocese of the Eastern United States. Our legislative  governing body is the Holy Synod. We have been in the United States actively since 1920; and have been "Autocephalous" (or self-governing) since 1937, when we became independent of the See of Utrecht, Holland. Originally called the Polish Old Catholic Church of the Americas and Europe; the name was changed later to Christ Catholic Church of the Americas and Europe. After the death of Archbishop Karl Pruter of the Boston Diocese; the Church was rescued from near demise by the actions of what was left of the Holy Synod (after many members, and even a whole diocese had left the Church for other organizations). The Holy Synod continued and reconstituted the Church, through its establishment of  the Archdiocese of the Eastern United States within the structure of the body of the Church, for the renewing of the purposes of the Gospel Ministry and the fulfilling of the Great Commission of Our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, and to be a beacon of light and hope in a dark world, holding up the banner of Orthodox Catholic Truth. We adhere faithfully to Biblical Morality, Traditional practices, Western-Rite Piety, and we are adamantly Pro-Life, and Pro-Traditional Marriage as being only between a MAN and a WOMAN. We ordain only men into the Sacred Holy Orders, and we will not knowingly ever ordain homosexual practitioners, or persons of any other type of immoral practices into Holy Orders. Unlike many of the jurisdictions today in the so-called independent movement, we are not a platform for current trends and fads of those who leap out of the Roman or Eastern Churches to have a voice for their pet peeve. Only men can be ordained, as per Sacred Tradition of the Church, since the time of the Apostles onward. Our Mission and Goals In this time of Mass Apostasy, when herds of clergy and even whole denominations are being swept away into the rejection of Catholic and Christian truth, and into debauchery and unnatural practices and lusts; our mission is more important now than ever before. We are not the smallest Congregation in our town; but one of them. But we continue the great Tradition of the Historic Church. We provide a Western-Rite Mass in the vernacular of the people, in traditional English; and we maintain the Historic teachings of the  Faith, and preach the Word of God. We serve as the "Pro-Cathedral"  (Provisional, not Professional) Parish for the Archdiocese of the Eastern United States.   We wish to live in harmony with all Christian bodies. As Orthodox   Tradition  Christians, we accept the teaching of the Holy Bible, and practice the customs of the Orthodox Church in History. We believe in all 73 Books of the Bible, and believe that they are all verbally Inspired by God. We reject those modernist aberrations  such as the "ordination" of women to Holy Orders . We most fervently reject those culture of death errors, such as abortion, that imperil the very heart of human existence. We do not believe in "universal salvation", but stick to the Great Commission of Our Lord to, "Go baptize all nations...", and His words, "I am the way, the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father, but by me."(John 14:6)We believe that to live in harmony with those Christians whose beliefs are different means that we can still consider each other as brethren under the banner of Our Lord Jesus Christ. We consider that there are some ecumenical ventures through which we can share ministry while at the same time disagreeing. Trinitarian baptism with water is, we believe, the common denominator, as is the Real Presence of Our Lord in the Eucharist. The Sacraments Yes! We believe the Sacraments are "objective and effective signs of the continued presence and saving grace of Christ our Lord among His people and His covenanted means for conveying His grace." There are Seven Sacraments  ordained of Christ: Firstly: Baptism: by water (by pouring, sprinkling, or immersion) and performed  in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost.  This washes away original sin, and restores us to fellowship with our Heavenly Father. This is necessary for the New Birth, and it is, in fact; the New Birth of Water and Spirit.(Matthew 28:19, John 3:5; Romans 6:4, Acts 2:38; 1 Peter 3:21). The Holy Eucharist, or the Divine Mystery, as the Sacrifice of the Mass: was instituted by our Lord at the Last Supper when He said: (This is My Body...This is My Blood.)Confirmation bestows the seal and gift of the Holy Spirit, through the Imposition of the Bishop's Hands and Prayer.The Sacrament of Holy Matrimony is the bestowing of God's Grace uniting a MAN and a WOMAN together in Marriage in an indissoluble union. Only a man and woman can participate in this sacrament.The Sacrament of Penance relieves us of the guilt of actual sins committed after Holy Baptism, by confessing aloud, and receiving absolution from the priest or bishop. This restores us to the place in grace that we occupy after Baptism.The Sacrament of Holy Orders transmits the graces of the Diaconate, the Priesthood, and the office of Bishop, through the Apostolic Succession from Christ to the Apostles, to the Bishops; through the Imposition of Hands of the Bishop along with the proper intent, matter, and form, of the sacrament, and with the proper candidate. The candidate must be Male, as was Christ and the Apostles.The Sacrament of Extreme Unction involves the Anointing of the Sick, that they may either recover or be healed, or be fortified spiritually and made ready to meet the Lord in death. "This is my body which is given for you...This is my blood of the New Testament...As oft as ye do this do it in remembrance of Me."(I Corinthians 11:24; Matthew 26:20- 28; Mark 14: 17-25; Luke 22:14-20)There are also five other Sacraments which include: Confirmation, Penance (Reconciliation of a Penitant), Holy Unction or Anointing of the Sick (also known as Extreme Unction), Marriage, and Holy Orders.Confirmation conveys the gifts of the Holy Ghost, and is administered through the laying on of hands by the Bishop.(Acts 8:14-17; 19:1-7; Ephesians 1:13).Penance: conveys the acceptance of the forgiveness of our sins.(John 20:23; James 5:16).Unction: is the anointing with oil and prayer for for the sick (physically or spiritually).(James 5:14; Mark 6:13).Marriage: is the union of one man and one woman for life before God. This relationship, Saint Paul tells us, is like unto Christ and His Church(Ephesians 5:31-32).Holy Orders: denote the Apostolic Ministry of Bishops, Priests, and Deacons, instituted by Christ.(John 20:19-23; Matthew 16:18-19; 18:18; Acts 6.1-6). Our Lord commissioned the Apostles and their successors, today's Bishops, to proclaim His work of salvation which He accomplished on Calvary. When we speak of Apostolic Succession, we mean an unbroken line of consecrations and commissions from our Lord to present day bishops, continuing the same teaching and ministry established by Christ. Pastoring in a Conservative  Church in an Independent Movement gone wild(The below article is pasted from Pastor's Blog)Welcome in the Mighty Name of Our Saviour and Lord Jesus Christ. This blog is a little different than the other published online works that I am associated with. This one will not always be a “Bible or Doctrine Teaching” site; nor an exposition on the Independent Movement (or Independent Sacramental Movement, as they like to call it now); but rather, this is an outlet for my thoughts on our place (in Christ Catholic Church) within the Body of Christ; The One Holy Catholic and Apostolic Church; and within the Independent Movement itself.I tend to really identify with Saints Athanasius and Gregory of Nazianzus these days. Much of what is termed the “Independependent Movement” is actually nothing more than a polyglot of various persons; in blatant rebellion against Christ; but who like to “have church”. So…they have marched out of the Roman Catholic Church, or the Episcopal Church, or the Lutheran Church, with their “pet” peeve, and founded an organization, and have gotten themselves consecrated by somebody, and now they claim that they are part of the “Old Catholic ” Movement. In reality they are part of the “Rebellion Movement” rebelling usually against one or more features of Biblical Morality. I am quite sure that most of these type people(who I am not making fun of…I pray for them to be converted to the Living Christ) will probably vote for Pres. Obama, because he lifts up the same immoral trademark items that most of these false churches lift up: namely…Abortion, Promiscuity, in the form of homosexual and lesbian activity, and couples living together without the Sacrament of Matrimony. And of course, many of these false churches will gladly “ordain” women, homosexuals, lesbians, profligate fornicators, and whatever other stance one can take against God and still want to “go to Church”.Our little Church has been assailed and assaulted with attempts upon of all of the above, and survived and driven this back. Pastors of such groups will probably hate me, and that is fine, but they need to repent and to know that they are dupes and tools of demons who gladly use them to subvert the morality of the public unto the eternal damnation of the souls of the followers. Eternity is a LONG TIME, as those of us who are growing OLDER are keenly aware of…as we feel the approach of a Coming Eternity. NOW is the time when we must make an mpact for Christ in a world governed by “moral relativism”, bereft of absolutes. Well, I am one to tell you, that the Catholic Faith contains TRUT…THE TRUTH, and true Moral absolutes. It is opnly by God’s sovereign grace in Christ Jesus that we are saved and made holy; yet on our part, we must acquiesce to God’s will and to the action of the Holy Spirit, and respond in such a way to become developed into sainthood. We need to about the works of Christ, and of the emulation of the great saints, that we may become instruments of Christ in the Holy Spirit, unto the redemptionof the world and thesaving of souls. And then we will loose the knowledge that these things are horribly wrong, and we will follow the path of perdition straight into eternal damnation in Hell. Sadly, whole major denominations have adopted this course; even offering to write LITURGIES celebrating such heinous behaviour! God deliver us from such in this apostate age! Beliefs and FaithPrince of Peace Anglican Rite MinistriesWe believe in the Holy Bible. We believe that it is the Inspired Word of God unto mankind. It is equally inspired in all of its 73 Books. We receive those Books commonly known as the Old Testament, and those books known as the Deutero-Canonical (or Second Canon); and also the New Testament of Our Lord Jesus Christ.We accept the Historic Faith of the Holy Church as faithfully continued, especially by the Churches in fellowship and doctrinal agreement with the Ancient Patriarchal Sees of Constantinople; Jerusalem; Antioch; and Alexandria. We believe that the Lord has used both Scripture and the Sacred Tradition to preserve the Faith of Jesus Christ unto, and through the Church and its Divine Authority. Usages of the venerable and primatial Holy See of Rome are allowed in the Church.We are people of the Holy Trinity. We believe without compromise; the Doctrine of the One God present in the Three Persons of the Holy Trinity. God the Father created heaven and earth; and is the Father of the only begotten Son. Jesus Christ is the Eternal Son of God; God the Son; the Second Person of the Blessed Trinity. He exists uncreated from all eternity, and He came to earth, begottne of the Virgin Mary, as the sinless sacrifice for sin; acceptable unto the Father. He died Once for Sin; upon the Cross of Calvary. He was buried, and on the Third Day, He arose from the dead and ascended into heaven, where He sits at the right hand of God the Father Almighty; from whence He shall come again in Glory to judge both the Living and the Dead, and His Kingdom shall have no end. We condemn the current notion of so-called "Same Sex Marriages" and will never allow it, for it cannot be. The very concept is condemned by the Bible as abomination unto the Lord. We cannot endorse what God condemns.We believe that the 12 Apostles were all men, and that all Bishops (in succession of them) have always bee men, and therefore, as persons ordained to act "In Persona Christi", there cannot be such a thiing as female priests or bishops etc.Today, most of the so-called Independent Movement has fallen away from these principles, and in doing so, they have fallen away from Christ. It is not for us to judge and say that they are "severed" from grace in Christ, but it can be safely said that they remove themselves from Christ's Church (which they profess to represent). We continue on in the Historic Faith that the Lord has called us and given us the command to proclaim of the Gospel of Christ unto the ends of the earth. Still He calls to us to come Home to Him. The Father made A WAY IN A MANGER, to LEAD to the CROSS, by which Our Lord has secure the salvation for us that He was born into this world to provide. Literally, he was born TO DIE. Not becase of sin, for He never sinned. But for sin, as He who laid among the shepherds' lambs of Bethlehem, was the true sacrifice Lamb. The Lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world. Let Him be Born in your heart today, if you do not know Him personally. He still changes and renew the lives of men everywhere. He is the same, yesterday, today, and forever. He knew that this supernatural conception of JESUS was too much for the mortal man to comprehend, let alone to be involved in a marriage with...so the Lord miraculously "brought St. Joseph into the loop; so to speak". He had the angel appear to him in such a way that he would know that the apparition was real; and then also know that the message was real, and that Mary had not been unchaste. And blessed is anyone who takes no offence at me.’As they went away, Jesus began to speak to the crowds about John: ‘What did you go out into the wilderness to look at? A reed shaken by the wind? What then did you go out to see? Someone dressed in soft robes? Look, those who wear soft robes are in royal palaces. What then did you go out to see? A prophet? Yes, I tell you, and more than a prophet. This is the one about whom it is written,“See, I am sending my messenger ahead of you,who will prepare your way before you.”Truly I tell you, among those born of women no one has arisen greater than John the Baptist; yet the least in the kingdom of heaven is greater than he.(from sermon of the Reverend David Ellis)John the Baptist experienced a grave moment of questioning his very faith in Christ (as even being the Christ at all). This man, who was the greatest born prophet was plagued with  the potential for disbelief. Yet still, Jesus does not 'write him off'. Instead He sends him a further witness, " Go and tell John (AGAIN one text says) what you see and hear." He then lists the "KINGDOM SOGNS" of Isaiah Chap[ter 35 that are given as being the signs of MESSIAH and HIS KINGDOM, the accepted signs received by the doctrine of the Pharisees for teaching in the synagogues. He literally shows these signs, by performing these signs in the midst of the Baptist's followers. He then sends them off to see St. John again. HE DOES HOWEVER tell us one thing that is never preached by anyone (that I know of) He says that the very LEAST member of the Kingdom of God is greater than the final Old Testament prophet John the Baptist. This includes all from the lowliest most unknown saint from the most obscure corner of the earth, up to and including the most Holy Apostles, and the Mother of Our Lord Jesus.We need to always lift up their holy lives and examples; for we are all called to be saints, as St. Paul says; and we have a partial share in their condition and lot now, even in this world, as we still struggle against the wiles of the devil, and all the gross and lurid, and yea, even the most subtle temptations of this world. Christ has called EACH of us, to take up OUR Cross and follow Him. For each of us, the Cross we bear varies somewhat from believer to believer. We must take up all that would impede us from our journey with Christ...even if it is things that are not of themselves sinful, but they become so unto us as we would otherwise allow them to impede us from our life with Christ in the Holy Spirit's unction and sanctification. Look at the words of St. Paul in Colossians Chapter One Verse 11 as he says: "Strengthened with all might, according to the power of his glory, in all patience and longsuffering with joy, [12] Giving thanks to God the Father, who hath made us worthy to be partakers of the lot of the saints in light: [13] Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of the Son of his love, [14] In whom we have redemption through his blood, the remission of sins; [15] Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature:"Christ has made us (not we ourselves who have made us) WORTHY...He has made  us WORTHY to be PARTAKERS (this word in the original means that for now we are PARTAKERS IN PART (with the lot of the Saints in Light). Even now we enjo some of this beatitude that comes from the fellowship of the Holy Spirit, and the unity thereby with the Holy Trinity. Therefore let us strive to enjoin upon our hearts the determination to always allow Christ to lead us, day by day, as we journey TO BECOME SAINTS. This passage should be especially prophetical in light of the tyranny today in the form of the dictatorship-like foisting upon American of the so-called Affordable Healthcare program commonly known as Obama-Care. It is neither affordable nor Caring. Instead, the new tyranny demands that all working Americans subsrcibe to an expensive TAX in the guise of government owned insurance, to break the backs of the american workers, and ultimately, to destroy the american economy. They demand that we sign up and enroll on a broken and non-functional website monopolized by and operated by Verizon as the agent of the Obama administration. And if we are late getting through to the unreachable web site by January 1st, then we can each be fined $595.oo dollars apiece for noncompliance. Mr Obama; we the loyal citizens of the United States, intend to pay our taxes, we will always render unto Caesar that which is owned by Caesar...but we will not render unto Caesar, Henry the Eigth, or Mr. Obama...the things which are NOT Caesar's, Henry the Eigth's, or Mr. Obama's. We must stand united and tall against Tyranny. We must proclaim that we will NOT opay for abortions. We will NOT pay for contraception. We will not support Mr. Obama in his quest for alliances with those who BURN CHURCHES and KILL CHRISTIANS in Syria and in Egypt, and in other Islamic countries. We will stand loyal to the Christ who saves us. We will stand loyal to the Church. Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken: And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other. During these times, which the Holy Scriptures call "perilous times" we see the advent of false Christs, false prophets, and the spread of false religions, which set themselves up to confuse, deceive, and lead men into eternal damnation. We must hold to the unchanging faith of the One, Holy, Catholic, and Apostolic Church, and never be parted from that faith for any new trend or popular fad of the day, no matter how much it may try to entice our souls, because they will attempt to entice your soul.  Jesus shall not be manifested as some sort of hidden Islamic imam. He shall come again in glory, to judge both the quick and the dead. There shall be utterly NO DOUBT about whther or not it is He when He shall return. All the earth shall know it. Ad all the tribes of the earth shall mourn. And all those who are undone in their sins shall throw up their hands and scream in despair.
